I actually prefer scars. I do have 12 soul reaping, 12 curses (for mark of pain for quick dmg) and 16 death. That's 3 superior runes. That along with prot spirit and dark bond, I never die (unless the group sucks) so my armor level isn't a problem. When I have constant guys dying all the time like in tombs its nice to have that extra energy when you keep spamming fiend and horror. I dont think it really matters what armor u have though, it's mainly the staff or your wand/wutever. I like the 20/20/20 +5 energy staff.

I agree with most here, in that the extra AL can *REALLY* come in handy ...
One thing most are forgetting: if you're not being charged by an enemy, or waiting for a patrol to come around to a certain spot, you have to actually run in and *wand* a mob to get your little friends interested in hurting it. They are tenacious once they see something, but you have to sort of coax them along to that point So in the event one of the enemies goes "oh, look ... an army of minions ... where's that necro? AHA!" and starts pummeling you, you can unleash your hordes and kite behind them without dying |

I prefer the scars, myself. It can be hard to get started with that minion army, and I find the more energy I have, the better off everyone is. I also like to bring along a damage spell or two. I hate feeling like I'm not contributing to killing things.
